The other base cabinet were the unfinished kind from the local do-it-yourself store. I had a friend spray paint them white. I did the tile work myself. And the window are old wooden windows I found in the barn when I purchased the house. How is that for budget?Meggiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16512116319930586068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6024391508913357750.post-19219780676650261682012-03-31T17:23:55.056-05:002012-03-31T17:23:55.056-05:00Great photo, Meggie! I get the clicks and chirps of the purple martins and I swear I hear the growls of my cairn in his song. J's also moved one of the birdfeeders closer to the house, so we can watch the birds come to feed as we are working in the kitchen. Your kitchen looks amazing Meggie - it must be so light with all those windows.Scarlethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01729719876504930455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6024391508913357750.post-13528202302202316772012-03-31T09:24:18.018-05:002012-03-31T09:24:18.018-05:00Hi Rachel....What a great idea to use for relaxing...Hi Rachel....What a great idea to use for relaxing while commuting on the train. I just want to say that I love your kitchen...even looking at it from a computer, it feels like you are standing outside while you are in it. What a dream to live in! And you are so right about the mocking bird doing the "snowplow"! Ellen has a cockatiel, and I did not want a bird when we got it, but now - I love that bird! It "copies" everything it hears including a catcall whistle. Whenever we walk in the room, it lets out a whistle and boy do I feel good and it always makes me smile! It also copies songs and can whistle Happy Birthday, and various tunes!
