Good Friday is our traditional day in Scotland - probably becaue it was the first holiday after the New Year, so working folks had time to spend in the garden. Interesting link. Although we are not homeschooling. We have been reading The Puritan Twins.<br />xxxJacquihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01659012917888444554noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6024391508913357750.post-29482577317318275862012-02-22T15:19:26.076-06:002012-02-22T15:19:26.076-06:00Hi Elaine, It is blackland and I think I could gro...Hi Elaine, It is blackland and I think I could grow a twig into something. But, in the hot summer months, if there isn't any rain, the earth opens up with wide cracks. So bad sometimes that I can't ride a horse for fear he will step in one and fall.Meggiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16512116319930586068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6024391508913357750.post-82973793137883629142012-02-22T15:16:25.456-06:002012-02-22T15:16:25.456-06:00I don't recall seeing white raspberries...I...I don't recall seeing white raspberries...I'm sure they taste good over yogurt.Meggiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16512116319930586068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6024391508913357750.post-27992509028767669832012-02-22T13:31:18.612-06:002012-02-22T13:31:18.612-06:00It's hard for me to believe it will be a high ...It's hard for me to believe it will be a high of 79 here today. It's a movable Holy Day , so some years the weather definitely isn't right for potato planting. We usually plant ours in April. We are forecast to have as high a temperature as 17 degrees tomorrow. That would be lovely as I am going into town and having lunch in an Italian restaurant with KL and my Mum - a rare treat!Scarlethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01729719876504930455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6024391508913357750.post-29830956168567874262012-02-22T09:57:23.804-06:002012-02-22T09:57:23.804-06:00We have wild strawberries, currants, white raspber...We have wild strawberries, currants, white raspberries and cherry tomatoes in our garden. The flavour of home grown, freshly harvested and cooked potatoes is wonderful. Well worth a little honest toil. Sounds as though it should be a very auspicious day to plant them.
