Sunday Morning...Cowboy Style

Until I photographed this sign, I didn't realize there are about 750 Cowboy Churches  in the USA, with over 200 in Texas.

Enjoy your family and friends today...

  1. Very interesting...I've never heard of that church or seen one when visiting Texas. Next time I'm there, I must investigate. Have a relaxing day before the week begins, dear friend, XOXO

  2. Hello Susan...I first saw this sign when I was traveling to my mother's home, back in August when she became ill. If you click on the word Cowboy Church, it will link you an article about it's history.

  3. Hello Meggie, Cowboy churches are new to me. I like the quote on the sign about riding high because He is always watching. I suppose cowgirls are invited as well. Have a great week. Joyous Wishes, Linda

  4. I'd love to attend a cowboy church sometime. They're not really something we have this far east.

  5. That is so diverse and interesting Meggie, I can't imagine going to my local church and enjoying a rodeo...........I'm afraid it's nowhere near as exciting.........just tea and cake with the vicars wife.

  6. It strikes me as strange that there would be churches for people who work at being a cowboy. Is this unique to Texas?
In Minnesota, many churches are unique to country of origin, like Norwegian or German Lutheran or Greek Orthodox but a religion based on occupation seems odd. I'm envisioning a Plumber's Church!

  7. I've seen quite a few over the last 10 years or so in West Texas where we lived until last year. I've never been to one, though.
