Memorial Day Remembrance....

"Our first obligation to them and ourselves is plain enough: The United States and the freedom for which it stands, the freedom for which they died, must endure and prosper.
Their lives remind us that freedom is not bought cheaply."

A quote from Memorial Day Ceremonies,
1982

Rain Drops Keep Falling....on the Bungalow Garden

"I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers."
Claude Monet

With each move I have made in the last few years,
                                                             I've said to myself....
"Maybe this time I will keep the garden simple"

The statement is laughable.
I have a green thumb,
but most especially...
a true love of flowers and gardening.
The daylily is a top producer of that kind of love.

After the Rain....for Friday Fences

You must experience it to believe it...
It takes only a day or two, after a rain in the Spring or early Summer,
for Rain Lilies to pop up
along the roadsides and the pasture land.

The slender, trumpet-like bloom, begins to open at dusk...
greeting you in the morning, fully opened.
