Sunday Morning in Moravia....Texas

Czech immigrants from Northeast Moravia settled this area around 1870.

Mass will be at 10am, today... followed by the annual church picnic.

I will be having lunch, prepared by volunteers of the parish, at the church pavilion.

It's almost too early to get a good photo of the stained glass windows.

The Moravian Catholic Church is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

This photo was taken during the winter....

It was almost dark.

  1. What a beautiful old church Meggie. We have been for a couple of hours drive today and passed through some gorgeous little villages with beautiful old stone churches. I love how they have stood the test of time.

  5. Love the silhouette take. I am thinking - reverse painting on glass. I like the way the 3 crosses stand out against the country side.
