Holding On...for Monday's Country Back Roads

It's anyone's guess....

why complete lengths of wood are missing.

  1. Meggie, this old baby is lucky that it isn't up north in snow country, it would be a pile of rubble. Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope to see you again.

  3. I love seeing old barns like this. There are a lot around here that are leaning and on the verge of falling.

    1. I have several I keep tabs on...watching the changes over the years.

  4. I wonder just how old that lovely barn is. We watched an old shed gradually collapse over a period of twenty years; it was one field off from a motorway and became something we eagerly anticipated on a long and boring journey. Eventually it was no more, and the journey became even more boring!

    1. I know how you feel....I often wonder how many other people notice the changes.

  5. It's definitely seen better days, but old barns like this are so charming in their own right!

    1. I agree...they do have a charm in their own right. Wish I could have seen them when first built !

    1. Do you ever wish you could give the owner the photo? I'm determined to give this one another shot when the grass turns green and the sun is shining.

    1. That's exactly what I was thinking when I wrote the post. Sometimes they find there way to a table top too !

  8. I hope we never run out of old roads, to meander down...

But honestly, the old roads we used to be able to take a country drive on, around here, are no longer thus.

Seems many people have built, on them. And lots of these people, seem to be "hell bent" to get somewhere! So a leisurely drive, is no longer possible. -sigh-

Old barns... Sad. Wish someone would buy them, and save any usable wood....
