My Lucky Week...More Gifts

My daughter and her husband just returned from a vacation, that included Brussels, Belgium.

They had planned on arriving in time for the Brussels Flower Carpet Festival. If you are interested in learning more about this celebration, click on Flower Carpet. This link tells of the history of previous carpets. Above is a photo, she gave me, of the actual carpet on display. Look at the people crowded around it.  Isn't it amazing?

Beside photos, my daughter always brings me artwork from the countries she visits.

And here it is....a beautiful numbered print of the 2012 Flower Carpet.

Also in her gifts to me, was this exquisite silver key chain from Paris.

It has been a week of surprises....first, winning the book and fabric from The Happy Cottage Quilter. Then, these lovely gifts from my daughter and husband's vacation.

Lucky me....

  1. As my daughters called them..."prezzies" are fun to receive, especially unexpected ones! I love the key chain; I want to go to Paris next year and scout out bakeries and antique shops--wanna come! XOXO

    1. I love the word "prezzies". My daughter asked me to pass this on to you, " Go to Porte de Clignancourt, officially called Les Puces de Saint-Ouen, but known to everone as Les Puces (The Fleas)". She said to go to the inner circle to see the real flea market. She could have stayed there for days...looking.

  6. What a beautiful print! I'm guessing it will soon have pride of place in the new house. I imagine the square must have smelt amazing with that carpet of flowers.

  8. How lovely. I traveled to Belgium with my hubby a couple of years ago. It was an amazing place, but we did not go during the carpet of flowers. Your package should be on your doorstep tomorrow (hopefully). I hope you enjoy your prize :-)
