Home Alone....for Friday Fences

What could have possibly happened here?
I see broken windows, peeling paint
and no sign of life from inside.

Today was not the only time I have sat on the side of the road,
staring....wishing it could speak out to me, with answers.

Yes, there is a fence in the photo.
But, I think the photo is more about
 the abandoned home.

  3. A very nice country scene even with a lonely, deserted house. We might be surprised if the walls could talk as to what happened.

  4. Meggie, lovely to see your photos and read your thougts, can really see you sitting there and wondering... Are there many farms like that, distance-farmed? Must have been a wonderful place!

    1. No, property is very prime here. I just can't imagine walking away from something like this. But, as we both know, it takes a lot of work to renovate. Both of us have had our share of renovations.

  7. How strange since there seems to be someone who had to have baled that hay.
Lots of times people build a larger home somewhere near property like this. The house looks to have been a nice one in it's day.

    1. Hello Ida....and maybe it was left to some children who wanted no part of it.

  8. I would so have to peek in the windows and imagine how they lived.

    1. First, I would be afraid of trespassing and then there is the threat of snakes this time of year. The windows are very dark...empty looking!

  9. Lovely photo, and I too would love to hop over the fence and go see whats inside. But I suppose you just have to keep imagining whats inside since it is fenced off. I live in busy San Francisco, we used to have many empty spaces with no one living in houses but not any more no more empty lots either.. Thanks for visiting me and joining me. Have a lovely weekend with love Janice

  10. It makes you wonder what happened to the family that left this home to deteriorate. Love your photos, even though it's fenceless! XOXO
